Been lurking here off and on for 3 years or so. So much good reading, so many talented people here.

I'm a bit of an IT wonk but am in Oil/Gas, Offroad stuff and have been in aviation after running an engine machine shop for 10 years.

I had a 30x40 shop at my last house but sold it all after a divorce several years ago to move west a bit. Remarried a couple of years ago and bought a house with a 4 car garage but am cramped for space. I was about to build a storage shed to store my **** in but the HOA wants it bricked, etc and I have a hard time paying $xxxx to store 10 cents worth of ****, besides, we've decided to put this on the market and find another place that suits us better, including a shop for dear ol me... at least 40x50 this time.

The other garages house my wife's Touareg and my other baby:

I've managed to free up a bit of space and am about to build me a 4x8 fab table for my 3n1 machine, drill press, grinder, bender, bead roller, etc...on some steel casters of course... with a dog house underneath for my mig cart and torch.

After that I have to get started on my most important custom build... my boy's first hot rod! He'll be 1 in January.

Starting with this:

Am going to dispose of the pedal assembly etc, basically use the body, fab a floor and pick some wheels then axles. Need to open up the rear fenders, weld up some seams and smooth. I have some miniature billet Z28 badges in the works and found a wood steering wheel for it then of course Frost Green paint and black stripes to match ol Dad's 69.

Will go hot rod stroller first but have it where he can drive it when he get's a bit bigger. I have a 24v motor and two batteries that will fit behind the seat, do a belt drive setup..will be able to power some lights too.

Anyway, needed to have some space to fab up various small projects and prototypes for some of my other side businesses so here we go!
