I've been lurking for a while, as I've started building, I figured I'd do an intro.
Name's Bill, just South of Atlanta, Ga. I originally planned to build a 20x30 detached garage, but ran into problems with the property line. The house is too close to the only area I could build (and maintain the setback). I looked at laying it out another way but it wouldn't fit visually with the property, or I'd have to excavate a large hill....too $$$$.
So, I will be building a shed. 12 x 16. Cheap as possible. In light of that I've decided on a pole-frame construction with a rock floor. The ground has a slope to it so I'm going to level gravel into the shed. It'll be for yard equipment and other **** to clear the garage for a total reorganization. It'll be a gable roof, t1-11 siding initially, then hardi-planked later to match the house.
So far I've hand-dug the post holes (UGH!) and ready to start in with the posts. I'll start a new thread once there's more progress.
