Found this forum while looking for some information on garage doors. We're building a new home on Flathead Lake in NW Montana and had just a few days to make last minute changes. The triple attached garage was to be 38'x38', but when I was checking how big/small that really is it looked like it was tight to get our two Ram 1500's side by side through the 18' door.

It's my last chance to make changes before footings and frost walls are poured; the garage will now be 40' wide and 38' deep to allow a 10' single and 20' double door ;)

As construction progresses I'll post some pics

Longez: you know what they say measure twice (or three) times and cut once. i hope you get it close to what you want and after selling new and used homes for 30 years i'm not sure I've really ever seen or heard of a "PERFECT" house or shop.

if you look around here you'll see some that you'll be amazed at and i bet if you ask the owners they will still say they would do something different.

by the way welcome to GJ and i had a week class in Missoula on land development a few years ago and we drove up to Kalispell and really like your area. if it was up to me i'd live there full time because i really like how friendly the people are.

cheers

We're moving from Orange County CA after 40 years in Yorba Linda; we've spent summers on Flathead Lake and decided it was finally time to move North. We'd been looking for the right house for a year, but gave up and bought ~6 acres to build a house big enough for kids and grandkids - and the garage I've always wanted.

So much planning but it's finally getting real - it seems there are decisions to be made daily :willy_nil

Welcome Londez from your neighbor to the S. E. I'm in Great Falls.
You will always wish you had done something different after you live in a while but sounds like your thinking ahead as much as possible.
You have picked one of the prettiest parts of our state.
