Hi, folks. I signed up to pick up tips and tricks, so forgive the lurking until I have plans in place.
My wife and I have owned a garage-less townhouse in Alexandria, VA, and we're both at that place in life where we need dedicated space for our toys. So we're in the market for a SFH in the same area that'll fit our needs until we retire and move elsewhere.
If you're not familiar with the Northern Virginia housing market it is expensive, so our best bet budget-wise is to buy an older home as close to work as possible (we will not compromise on commute times) and build a garage. I've been looking at the threads here for inspiration.
Anyone in the area contracted out the construction of a detached 24x24 (no plumbing, just electrical) with foundation? I know pricing is heavily location-based, so a ballpark would be a nice start. Thanks in advance.
