Yes....registered today....stumbled upon this site researching 'garage building info'...planning on a new garage this spring and thought I may get good ideas & suggestions from more knowledgeable persons than myself...Being retired two years now..I will have the time to plan and do some of the work needed to complete my project...
My ideas include a 30x50 2x6 framed garage with 2' stemwalls giving me a 10' interior ceiling...two 16' Martin insulated O/H doors...I will hire the shell construction/roofing/stucco exterior...much of interior will be done by myself....sheetrock ceilings hired....wafer on walls ? Painted white ? Lighting is my big concern...Power needs ? Basic garage/workshop...no 220 welding...beer fridge of course...plenty of HO flouresent lamps...natural gas ceiling forced air heat...vehicle storage will be one Tacoma D/C..one Chevy 2500 HD crew...one Yamaha Rhino...
Between the 2 O/H doors I plan a 'mancave' room..16x20 or so....office/reloading area....mini split heat/cool system..leftover removed kitchen cabinets from earlier kitchen refurb....work benches will be 2x4 framed with plywood tops through out....Yes..lots of careful planning to do...
