Hey everyone. Long time lurker, first time poster. I moved in to a new house in September of 2011. The house isn't my dream home, but it sits on 2 acres, which means the neighbors aren't really close, and it also allows me room to build a garage.
In fact, the previous owner HAD a nice garage, but he took it with him.
So, what I'm left with is a 24x40 concrete pad, with about another 8ft of concrete behind it that I plan to utilize as well.
Since moving in, I've been busy trying to reclaim the property from the weeds, thanks to the previous owners' neglect, as well as fix up the house a little. Now, I'm trying to get my finances together to build my garage so I can properly store and take care of my pride and joy-- my 99 Z28. Plus, it will be really nice to have something bigger than my current shed to tool around in. Until I moved, I was used to working in a 2 story, 60x40 garage with a lift, so while this is a major downgrade, it'll be better than what I'm working with now.
I'm in the VERY early planning stages as of now, but hope to try to start on construction sometime in the next year. I'm going to start a thread to show some of the ideas I've had already and welcome any and all input. I've really enjoyed browsing this site (maybe a little too much
) and look forward to continuing the same and sharing what progress I make.
