After roughly 25 years my trusty Miller Syncrowave 180 has decided to become un-trusty and is now acting up on the AC setting. It's outputting something that looks more like an EKG than a square wave. I haven't ruled out fixing it but there are so many inverter machines now with improved portability and features that I'm seriously considering replacing it with something new.

I think I've settled on the Invertig™ 221 AC/DC Dual Voltage Water-Cooled package but I thought I'd check with the hive to see if there are other recomendations or if there's some reason to not go with the HPT.

Looks like a really nice setup. If you can afford it, I can't imagine you will regret it.

HTP is a company similar to Hypertherm where the only real "criticism" is price. If that doesn't pose a problem, send it

I don't own a HTP 221. But, as soon as I can, I am buying one.

Def go with the water cooled setup. On ALL welder forums, it's considered a "budget" welder, compared to Miller. But they all recommend it.

You can't go wrong with a HTP. Either buy a HTP or a Miller. The other options aren't worth it.

Has anyone tried the new HTP Independence 210 AC/DC TIG? I wonder if they are phasing out the Invertig 221 in favor of this new model.
