Hello, I'm trying to piece together a hub grappler kit using the harbor freight wheel bearing kit. I bought just the puller from OTC.

I read on another post that I still need the small plate for the puller to pull the flange out of the bearing. As the harbor freight kits do not have a small enough plate.

Can someone with the kit tell me the part number for that small plate or the diameter? I have access to a metal lathe.

Thank you very much in advance.

it sounds like I have the same setup you do. So far, I haven't run into anything that this combo wont do, but I haven't done a whole lot of bearings yet since I got the tools.

As WhiffySpark said, the size of the plate needed will vary depending on the vehicle. Why not measure the diameter of the hub end of the one you need and then machine one? Alternately, when you get the new bearing, measure the inside diameter of the bearing and machine an appropriate sized plate for the hub end with due allowance for clearance issues.

I'm still waiting on the hub grappler to arrive then I will take pics of the set up.

Does anyone have the sizes of the small adapters? I have access to the lathe for a week. I'm visiting my old man.

If you are talking about this HF bearing adapter set, the smallest one is about 2.18 inch.

You could always call OTC. They have been very helpful on the phone with me. I often buy used and oddball stuff to cobble kits together, and they have been helpful with part numbers, measurements, etc.
