Huge SO box for much less than normal in Syracuse

I am not a Snap On fanboy but I understand that they do carry a premium price. I hardly ever see a decent sized box for less than $2500 but today I see this roller with 2 side cabinets and 2 top boxes for $2200. Could be a steal for someone who is in the market. I will be working in Syracuse today and tomorrow and could go inspect it if anyone is serious about buying it.

That's a great deal, and it's says they are willing to split them up. I would just buy the lowboy.

If they aren't Snap On then you might be able to get it even cheaper. Tell them you just want the large box and sides. Then when you show up offer another $100-150 for both top boxes just to "Get them out of your way".

What boxes are those KR1003 with a drawer swap? KR1010 and KR291 side boxes? Agree the tops are not snap on. They look like they started life in a waterloo factory.

The bottom box is not a 1003, its a 663 I believe. Not that's a bad box, but it is only 21" deep and 60" or so wide.

That makes more sense. Assuming the top boxes are the common 40.5" variety. ~82" length for main box and one side box at 65" and 16". Still looks like it had a drawer swap at one point in time.

Top Boxes are Harbor Freight 44's (actual 41.5 width)

As for the drawer arrangement, 663 had the same layout as early 1003. The four shallow drawers in the left bank originally were on the right. Two of the 4" drawers would be in the left bank. He simply flipped drawers around, nothing added or lost.

The sides I understand, but shouldn't the center bank have at least 2 thin drawers instead of the 4 ~3.5" drawers.

Middle bottom box appears to have 3 locks ? I dont remember three locks especially on that drawer configuration.

Man, you guys know infinitely more about Snap On than I do. All I could tell you about that box is "Big, Red, Expensive".

Three locks were on triple banks for about the first 10 years of production. As to the drawer arrangement, yes you are correct, stock would have been two shallow drawers, I completely missed that at first. I was too focused on the casters making sure they were not spring loaded. The guy must not of cared for shallow drawers and swapped them out.
