This is my first wilton vise and I have long searched for a bullet vise of any size and came across this today, other than some surface rust in very nice shape.
Oh yah $85.00 from a yard sale. :rocker::thumbup:

Kickass price and congrats!

Now if you'll pay the $400 ransom to Photobucket we'll all be able to enjoy it

Never tried that....
Oh it is a 500 machinist vise.

seriously. i can't believe people invest countless hours into posting things online and then risk losing that info because of photo bucket and their bs tactics.

get on the bandwagon jason. encourage people to host on site no matter what sites you post to, host them on the site. you may have to click on a pic to enlarge it but at least it is there.

besides, i want to see pics of this monster wilton.

Great deal! Let us know if you figure out how to remove the paint overspray without stripping the original finish. I've got a small Wilton that needs a cleanup.

i might get the base down the road, not sure. Might just solid mount it and use my smaller crafty for small stuff and that swivels. Super excited still on this buy. Been cleaning it up and will post pics later of progress.

Just over spray and most is coming off with break cleaner on a rag just a small wire brush.

Send me a PM with the dimensions of the base: I've got a Wilton swivel base off the larger Wilton Cadet model. It looks the same as the other Wilton bases I've got. Not sure what size it is, though... Don't know how many different bases there are, but all my Wiltons were on the larger side.

I haven't compared them directly, but the part numbers from Cadet bases were different than from the machinist series.

Forum member Autopts is a Wilton dealer and can get you a new OEM base for that vise at a reasonable price...although more than you paid for the vise!

What baffles me is someone paid the price for this and never really used it, a couple of marks on the anvil part and the jaws are in great shape. Most vices I run into 2nd hand are worn flat out.

It doesn't make sense, but I've found quite a few like that...bought new, and mostly sat for years. Heck, I found one still in the original box and it was from the mid-1990s and had the original invoice stapled to the box!

badass deal there. I picked up a minty 450N (non swivel) for 120 bucks a couple weeks ago. I got a base from Nick (autopts) also. mine sat unused for 15 years or so. the 450 is pretty decent size and will do most of my work but I'd love to find a 500 or 600 stupid cheap. I was told by a member I paid too much since it was missing a base. Lmao. I'll trade ya.....
