I wired a gfci wrong the other day. Guy calls me, 2 outlets don't work. I was headed across the county in another direction and got my guy to go to it, saved me hr road time. I probably cramped and not wearing glasses.

I figured I did. I am fairly deliberate. Must have set it upside down, some **** for sure. It wasn't a big deal but its never good. Especially when its something a guy has to have done well north of a couple hundred times. I did some job a while back and wired around something for a test, must have forgot I did it and come back and tucked it in to a box, drove me insane and was a control kind of dangerous.
Finally cornered my helper and said, we are going to look at this till I figure out wtf and decide to open it all up, sure as **** ran right in to it and the shame of it was no one to blame it on.

I did it last year. When the recep tripped immediately upon use I thought it was a bad GFCI breaker. When I went to change it I saw that I'd run the neutral straight to the bus.

I have found them wired wrong, cant recall e er doing it. I found a wire laying against a breaker a few years ago, must have done it in the dark and never pulled on it. Was on a saw circuit, worked for a decade.
I must be getting eldtimers,,, maybe, ha but found a brake pad backwards in a car, cant even figure out how it went together, I think it was one of ours. Another was a weld on a crude underground pipe we do, I can weld weeks and hundreds of feet, never leak, have done a lot of them and don't test, often don't even chip. They got fittings so we really don't roll them completely, normally get a little practice and reach around them. Been doing them decades, never had a leak. Got the crane or loader to move one and right in front, 2 inches I never weld, right on top.
2 times in my career had loose wheels on a car, I try not to be interuption when I do that job.

I'm sure most all of us can find ourselves doing our jobs on "auto-pilot" freeing our brain to ponder the other great mysteries of life.... I've heard of doctors doing surgery on the wrong knee before. At least your mistake was easily fixable. Wrong knee, not so fixable.
