Humidifier Solenoid Question

Hey guys.. I am trying to replace my humidifier solenoid and having trouble finding the part. My heating company wanted over $200 to do this. Looks like the parts are under $40.00 and its a couple of wires, screws, and nuts on water lines.

So the model i am looking at is Valve NO. 616-1220N-1, 125 MOPD(i think PSI), 2.3 Watts, 24/60 Volts, 03/07 Ident, 3/32 orifice

Can i use a 4040 to replace this and get a 3/32 orifice. Not sure what the 03/07 Ident means.

Can someone give me some advise on this?

I want to order one. Ours is currently stuck open and has a constant drip.

The voltage and orifice size should be the main criteria to get it working properly. Is this a pass thru (evaporative type) humidifer?

Yeah it is a pass thru one. Its mounted on the side of the furnace and the water drips into the filter i believe.

I just replaced my humidifier valve this year. Purchased the replacement on Amazon for about 40 dollars.

Verify the voltage for the solenoid. My humidifier needed 120vac solenoid for an Aprilaire 550.

Easy to replace the valve but mounting holes may be different. I had to drill new holes and plug the old ones with plumbers putty.

Check the orifice in the outlet tube to make sure it is not clogged. Finally, there should be a plastic screen in the water tube that connects to the water inlet side of the valve. If the screen is missing or damaged it should be replaced.

It really is only open or closed. It doesn't regulate anything, that is the purpose of the orafice which usually will stay in the tubing and is reusable even if it doesn't provided it's not plugged.

Voltage and tubing connection type and size matter the most but adaptations can be made.

my understanding is the orifice is mainly to restrict water flow in the event of a leak or failure. you get a small stream of water rather than a 1/4" nozzle spraying. the flow thru setups would be sized for the application so not to waste water
pretty much any normally closed solenoid valve will work, providing pressure and voltage are in spec
