I just acquired a used Hunter 3500 tire changer. During initial test run, changed one tire and during the next tire an air line must have blown as I can hear it leaking severely. Pulled the lower side covers off and nothing leaking there. Now my problem..I still have the rim and tire clamped and no air pressure to release it. Does anyone know if there is a 'emergency' release button to ease the tension on the rim clamps so I can remove the clamped rim and have access to the upper cover? Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you.

Yes. Leaking air is putting it mildly. My immediate problem is getting access to the top. I have a wheel and tire locked on the machine and cannot access removing the top cover panel(s). Is there a way to unlock the wheel clamps manually? Disconnecting the air supply doesn't seem to ease the pressure on the clamps. Once I get the wheel off, I am sure I can find the leak. Thank you

With the air shut off/disconnected have you worked the pedal to release the clamps?
Look under the table should be double acting air cylinders are there screw on fittings?
Nothing to do with getting the tire off but are you running a pressure regulator on the unit? I found out the hard why ours doesn't like over 90psi it starts breaking air lines or popping them off the ends.
