Out of my mind... Be back soon!
Thinking about how I'm missing out on working on my projects had me brainstorming, and I got to thinking about my grandpa's old Huntsman stove. We still have it... Can someone point me to what's involved in installing such a stove safely? The garage used to have some sort of heat (don't remember whether gas or wood), so there's already a chimney there, but it isn't currently hooked to anything.

I'm assuming there is more to this job than simply sitting the stove down and connecting the chimney, but I don't know what that would be... can anyone point me to a good resource for someone who's reasonably capable mechanically, but who hasn't installed something like this before?

Thanks in advance!

Hey man, Get in touch with a local chimeny sweep to inspect the existing chimeny. Or a mason who knows what to do w/ old bricks. My point being to make sure it's not about to fall over. Then get a local fire code inspector to come and look at the proposed placement. They really could be your best friend if you did something wrong, before the first fire. Other than that get good heavy duty products for the install. Enjoy the heat there is no better heat if you have the room and you do the install correctly!
