Today I bought a tool box that I found on Craigslist. It is a Huot, at least the top portion. The bottom roll around cabinet may not be. Can anyone identify this cabinet? It may have been orange colored at on time. The cover on the bottom may not belong with the cabinet, it does not seem to fit as it should.
The guy was asking $100, he took $80.

Nice box, Huot are built well. IDK about the bottom box manufacturer but I'd say you got a deal! Do you plan to use them as is or restore them?

Nine4gmc, this box has been poorly painted in the past, so I will strip it and repaint. I also plan on repairing some damage such as dents and holes that have been drilled. But the reason I bought it is to use it. I need more tool storage.

Bobcatdan, how can I tell if it is a Snap On? I thought it might be but what would be some things to look for?
Thanks,
Terry

It should be stamped on the back. You will have to look for it, it can be faint. I based my opinion on over all design. Drawer arranment, the "shelf" where the lock is and the side handle. All are very SO. The only thing that looks a little off is what appears to be chrome strips on the drawer pulls. I would erge you if this thread doesn't get much traction, to start another focus on iding the bottom. I'd like to hear a few more agree before I whole heartly declare that a SO. What ever it is, those boxes look like a big you ****! By the way, nice hout, I have a 11 drawer that I'm setting the world slowest pace restoring.

I agree SO, but the side handle is also a dead ringer for the handle used on some Husky boxes.

Look for a "K" something number on the back; it will likely be faint, so work at it.

Found the stamping on the back of the cabinet. It is a SO, KRA 377D. The date is too faint to read.
