Hi gentlemen--
I scored an old 11 drawer Huot box Model 100 with the upper deck surface pretty badly rusted. Near as I can tell, they used a cable arrangement on both sides to limit the travel on the lid. The upper cable loop attached to the lid with a machine screw and the lower end of the cable was attached to a 3/4" flat washer which seems like it must pass thru a slot in the upper deck so that it lives in the cavity next to the drawer slides below. Can anybody out there remove a drawer from their old Huot and tell me how that cable was secured under the deck?
I figure I can fit some new steel over the deck, but I'd like to duplicate those cable stays if I can. Thanks in advance.
