Hurd’s Axe….seeking info

I saw this axe in an antique shop today but it was labeled as “hand forged axe” which to me says the owner didn’t see what I did stamped on the side of the axe…”Hurd’s”. Part of the reason they didn’t see the branding is that there is quite a bit of pitting.
My questions are how old is an axe like this? What is it worth in this condition? Are Hurd’s axes particularly collectible? Thanks in advance.

Looking into DAT, they say the following about

E.F. Hurd
Made AXES,EDGE TOOLS,HATCHETS

Hurd was working in Pittstown in 1859. When he received a 14 Aug. 1866 patent for an axe making machine he was in Johnsonville, and a 21 Nov. 1871 patent listed him in Hoosick Falls, NY. The brand name RAZOR BLADE was used on axes made in Johnsonville by "Hurds" and the "Hurd Axe Co."; those are assumed to be E.F. Hurd or a successor operation and may be post-1900.

DAT = Directory of American Toolmakers (pre 1900)

Vintage axes are really susceptible to that antique phenomenon in which rarity pays diminishing returns.
There are thousands more Kelly Perfects, Black Ravens, Sager Chemicals, Norlunds, Collins Legitimus, etc than lesser knowns like your Hurd, and they are the ones that are sought after.

OP: Very Nice Find, and I hope you got it for a good Price. I also Love Old Hatchets and Axes, BUT, They Just Do Not Bring The House Down Like Other Old tools ("IT SEEMS"). Your Particular HURD, which is billed to be Made Of "Razor Blade Steel" Composite, Does Fascinate Me. So, Thanks For Sharing it. !
