I have a Kobalt intermediate that you have to kind of smack it for the lock bar and cylinder to line up right and turn all the way. Hard to describe, but I drove it from my place to dad's the other week and had to fight just to get the key to go in (tubular key) but once it took its beating it was fine. Yours probably got jarred in shipping. I've had 2 Husky 26" top boxes that took a little coaxing on the first lock/unlock but not as bad as the intermediate. It might have something to do with the way the mechanism works.
