Hey all,
I've been lurking for a while, and decided to make an account a few days ago. I had nothing to make a post about, until I remembered that my dad's top drawer on his Husky box doesn't roll properly anymore.
Long story short, about 4 years ago, there was a Husky 52" top+bottom box set at Home Depot on sale for a killer price. He also found another coupon online to make the deal irresistible. I can't remember the final price, but $300 comes to mind.
He ended up getting the set. I got the top box (for my small-engine tools when I go down there and play around after my regular job), and he has been filling the bottom box with all of his nice tools. Obviously, the top drawer has all of the sockets/extensions/ratchets.
The issue is that the left side of the drawer only slides out about 3" before it stops. You have to lift up on it to pull it out more. It's been a while since I looked at it, but from what I can remember, the wheel actually bent one side of the (c-channel, I guess?) rail that it slides on.
I am wondering if anybody makes any heavy-duty rails that I could replace his junky ones with. It's actually a decent box besides this. It rolls nicely when we need it to. The "top drawer" thing is definitely a nuisance since that's the most used drawer.
Any ideas? I'm going back down there tonight. I will look at it again and snap some pictures if I can. I'd like to just get rid of them entirely and replace them with quality rails/slides (what are they even called?)
Thanks in advance. This forum is great!
