The problem with stuff like that is like many other boxes, they are interesting but only available online. I can’t afford a $1200 gamble on something I haven’t checked in person

Sure, but my HD hardly even looks at online returns in-store. So while unquestionably it could waste your time and gas, the odds that you could return for a full refund are extremely high.

My coworker bought one and it’s getting delivered this week. I’ll report back with pics. If it’s legit I’m selling my matco tool cart and buying it too.

I'd be really interested in your thoughts on it.

My local HD has one of these on the sales floor:

I fondled it a bit and really really like it.

I have purchased two Husky boxes online for store pick up. In both cases I insisted that they be unboxed during the loading process. so that I could check all the drawer slide function and for other possible damage before taking them home . Plus this makes it impossible for them to say that you damaged it.

If there is damage or whatever. Just don't accept it. Go back in hand em your CC and ask for a refund. No reason to accept damaged products. In my case both were fine.

Me too. I bought a pair for home delivery and they were beat. Tried again with store delivery and they were better, but still lots of damage. I tried to get them to give me a good price break but they just wanted to give a few dollars so I told them to keep em. It was quite a scene at the service desk with all the packaging, but they didn’t hesitate to refund them.

My coworker recieved his, I haven’t taken any photos because he hasn’t organized it and it’s a huge mess but I helped him put it together and I will be buying one this weekend. I will say that the wheels need upgrading but other than that it’s better quality than I expected. I’ll be posting photos when he gets his cleaned up or I get mine which ever comes first.

In daily use for 10yrs is expecting a bit much from it .
If used lightly they okay, not same league as masterforce or homak rs pro boxes .

I have looked at them at Home Despot and I can't get over the huge bottom drawer. Maybe if my worm drive saw and a 9" grinder needed a home next to my router I could see the point (those items tend to be more mobile in nature) but for everything else a locker or cabinet makes more sense. I suppose they are probably geared towards the diy everything in a tool box enthusiast but for me they are a space waster.

Excepting the point above they are an oversized generic home center box. For the money the harbor fright box or Menards boxes are better quality in my opinion.

Any update on your box purchase, or how your coworker is enjoying his box?

Thanks.

Bad news, mine and my coworkers box uses the same key and possibly every box out there.
Good news, my coworker and I have 12 keys for our boxes.

The Good,
All locks use one key,
Comes with 6 keys,
Very sturdy exterior,
Easy to put together,
Soft closing slides,
Pegboard is badass,
So much storage space,
Easy to roll around

The bad,
Swivel casters on both ends this isn’t a deal breaker and isn’t hard to move but is an inconvenience. I’ve had mine for about a month now and move it through my shop every day and haven’t had any issues I had a tool cart that was swivel on both ends and it sucked but this isn’t as bad,
Drawers are a tad flimsy,
The light that it comes with *****,
There might possibly be one key for all these boxes,
Stickers don’t stick to the finish.
That’s about it

In all I love this box and i believe it was a great purchase. Been using it professionally for about a month my biggest complaint is the casters. For $1,300 you cannot beat it.

IMO the 72" rs pro or masteforce beat it with ease, more so if being used in pro environment .

What I don't like about Husky is it uses rivnuts directly to the bottom sheet metal panel of the box for mounting the casters. They don't use a thick mounting plate like Harbor Freight does.

It’s major downfall is the casters. If we were talking about just the bottom chest here you maybe correct but when you consider what you are getting for the same price the husky beats it.

I forgot to mention that the soft closing slides don’t let the drawers open on their own so no need for latches.

Granted everyone usually talks up/ wants to be able to justify their purchase Only time will be a able to tell if the husky is a good decision but I’m willing To gamble with $1300

I have the 66" double bank and couldn't be happier. It doesn't get used as much as i would like because Im constantly on the road but when in the shop its great. I chose it over the HF 56" at the same price at the time. Main reasons it was deeper taller wider and had a work surface. And it doesn't have those stupid drawer latches. I have them things. I would have bought the HF 72" and spent a little bit more but I hated the latches that much. I use my box as a work bench as well so the work surface was a must

It is just a bottom chest, not following you !
I don't think the husky that bad but for more daily user I think it bit lacking in drawer rigidity, frame and casters .

Thanks for the update. This is still my top contender for my next tool box, and your thoughts confirm mine.

I have seen a lot of people (including the Real Tools Review guy, but I disagree with a lot of his thoughts in the review/comparison) complain about the rigid casters in the middle. Can they not be moved to one end or the other to solve the issue? I'd assume that the mounting plates for the casters share the same bolt pattern. I will likely make new bottom frame for the box and side cabinet to raise the box up about 2 inches so I have extra head room near the hutch, which will allow me to place casters wherever I feel like. All in all, it seems that this box is a great value when considering the configuration, storage capacity, and build quality.

Hey Julius,
I had a question about the top drawer on your box. Does it have a slide on the bottom of the drawer for support, or does it have metal stiffeners on it? If it has stiffeners, are they running the long or short way? I’m curious since the top drawer is so big, it has the potential to be flimsy. Does it feel pretty solid?

Thanks!

Very curious to see if you have an update on how you like the box now a few months later? I am interested in this vs. Masterforce vs. HF box.

Wow!! Those are very cool looking. I wish there was another full length drawer, but not as high under the big one for wrenches. Like anything else I would want to see it and feel it before saying I found Jesus. My depot never has cool stuff, but then again it’s RI and I suppose we are lucky to have any stores left.
