So the last few weeks at work I have found myself doing enough drilling to start looking at air drills. I found that Home Depot has some of thier Husky air tools 60% off. I don't know about the rest of them but the air drill is an online only special. I tried stopping by my store and picking one up in person. They pointed out that the part numbers are different so they couldn't price match. So I placed my order online and had it shipped to the store for free. I figure it should get here about the time I won't be needing one anymore lol.

They have had the Husky air tools on 60% closeout for a couple months now, clearing them out because they have a new lineup.

I bought the biggest 1/2 impact, the 3/8 impact, and the 3/8 ratchet. I got them free home shipping.

The 1/2 impact is nice, and I've used it several times.

The 3/8 impact is very underpowered, basically useless for auto work, might be good for a bike repair shop. Returned it.

The 3/8 ratchet leaked oil like crazy. Returned it.

So, I guess I'm happy with 1 out of 3 of the tools I purchased. But the good news is they returned the ones I didn't want no questions asked at the local store.

If you look at the fine print on the webpage the RETURN PERIOD IS 15 DAYS. So use it and abuse it for a few days. Don't just put it on the shelf only to find out later you don't want it and have passed the 15 day return period.

I got the holiday combo deal with air drill and 1/4" hex impact, they're Taiwan made and extremely nice. I find that any time I find a nice price on a Taiwan made air tool, it's a pretty safe buy. I go USA when at all possible but the expense has limited me to a small amount of tools.

I ordered the air hammer and it came in today. Except what the shipped was the air drill. Then they proceeded to argue with me that it was the same thing.

The manual versions are the same.
Why wouldn't the air powered ones be as well?

BTW, can anyone tell me why my drill bits keep breaking? I usually only get one or two hits in before they shatter.
