A change in the color or other seemingly unimportant aesthetic aspects can sometimes (but not always) indicate a different oem manufacturer, or just a product refresh. As others have stated, just looks at the specs that are important to you (usually printed right on the side of the compressor) and you will see any meaningful differences in advertised performance.
Husky compressors are not high end machines in general so I doubt even the compressor geeks around here could give you any real feedback on the performance nuances of any particular "vintage".
