Bringing this thread back to announce that the 200 sockets are now $79 with free shipping. Ordered mine yesterday.

I bought this set before Thanksgiving for $99.98, it was in-stock (3030 SW 'Calle Ocho' Miami FL).

When I saw the price is now $79, I went to the store with my original receipt and they refunded me the difference, including sales tax. They still have a pallet of them.

It was some kind of manager’s special, $79 dollars ea, then $25 off each set. I was greedy and asked for 2 more and she said no, there were limits on how far she could go.

Well worth having that kind of set at that price.
It's simple to be impressed by expensive stuff,, it should be good but this is really revolutionary. Never in world history has there been so much utility for so little. Even poor people can own useful tools, could take only a single event to pay for it.

If only poor people could afford a pickup truck.

Wow. Great set for the money. Those are basically Gearwrench sockets. I lost a Gearwrench socket in my set and needed one that day. It sits in the case and looks identical. You cant tell the difference unless you look close. May buy a set and put it in the work van

GW have knurled rings on the metrics

They’re cheaper in appearance than gearwrench. The finish is so so, I had one stamped upside down. But easy warranty, a lot of 12 points if you don’t have a lot of 12 points. Worth the price, just don’t set expectations too high.

All the Ollie’s around here have tons of plastic socket organizers if you need any to sort them it might be worth checking out.

Some of the reviews said they had to warranty replace a lot of them. If the store wasn't so far away, I'd pick them and mess with warrantying the bad ones. But I'm not sure I want to mess with it via mail order.

But I'm not sure I want to mess with it via mail order.

I can confirm that a couple of the sockets in the set I opened are probably going to be warrantied because of defects but the vast majority are fine. I do have a couple odd length sockets but my largest complaint is reading the sizes. There are a few with very light stamping that is very hard to read. For the price paid I'm not going to complain much and they still represent a great deal for the $59 price tag.

People are sure asking a lot from a socket set that literally is being sold for 29 cents a piece.

These are perfect for taking to the junk yard, working outside in the rain, mud, high grass, side of the road where you might lose one or two or for modifying so you don't have to ruin your "Good" set.

Warranty is never a problem at HD just take it in the store and they swap it. Most of the time you dont even need the reciept. I have never had a problem with warranty issues.

Simple exchange all tool manufacturers have a few slip thru quality control lol

One reviewer said he had to buy 2 sets just to get 1 usable set of them. This information is even more important to people like me who would need to order via the mail. For me having 200 loose sockets with illegible markings and needing to warranty replace a lot of them isn't worth the hassle. For those with a local store and small budget it's a good deal and I've previously suggested this set to folks looking for cheapos. These really aren't $200 sockets on sale for $60. The sockets are on par with the price.

Its gonna happen where you get a box that has nill to none quality control. Best bet if your interested take the chance if not pass right on by. I havent even checked or unboxed mine yet. When i do if there are bad ones i will exchange them simple as that.

The reviewer says he warranty replaced the bad ones. You are making false assumptions without reading the full review. You can read the reviews on the Home Depot website.

He says "I had to buy two sets to make 1 mostly complete set. I had to still swap out single sockets under warranty as both sets had bad ones."

I picked up one of these sets before Christmas, was on the clearance shelf marked down to 75, and got a military discount on top of it. I figured it would be a good enough set to keep in the truck with some older craftsman ratchets.
