Husky chainsaw chain question

I am asking for my cousin so I may not know what I am talking about. He gave me an old chain box that says H30 072G x 5018406-72, 3/16" 4.8mm .025" 0.65mm. I don't know if that is the chain he is running now ( or some how ended up with a different type) but his problem is that the current chain that he is running, doesn't cut that good, even when new. To me it looked like a safety chain anti kickback chain that I use to run on my Stihl until I found out about the regular one. So my question, is that H 30 chain I described above the correct non safety, kick back chain that will really cut and somehow he ended up with a different chain? Our local dealer is sort of not functioning ,so right now they are of no help.

I wouldnt blame a brand new chain on not cutting well, even if it's a anti kickback "safety chain". If it's binding in cut, cutting crooked or at an angle is suspect the bar needs to be dressed. Just poor performance the saw may need a tune up or have other issues

H30 is usually semi chisel tooth so if he's used to full chisel it may cut a little slower

Update:
Original chain: H30 072G X 5018406-72 3/16" .025"
Chain he has on it now that he doesn't like: X-Cut SP33G 18" , 72 drive links, pitch .325", gauge .050".

Again, I am asking for my cousin so I am not sure if I got the story right, what chain should he run to cut the best or is there one even better?

Those two chains are essentially the same. If a brand new sp33g chain is not cutting good I'd suspect other issues

X-cut is decent chain. I don't have any .325 but the 3/8 is fine. H30 was made for Husqvarna, and X-cut is made Husqvarna. I've seen more than one saw that has new chain on backwards.
