Husky CS 42 Autopsy

Found this nice ratchet today. I almost left it behind, but it is a 60 tooth and really smooth. It wasn't used much. I decided to take it apart. It is a 1/2" drive. Does anyone know how old this is?

A split ring holds the head together. Behind the ring is a plastic washer.

The gear is back together and ready to reinstall. I'll leave it dry so that the next owner can use their favorite lube. I know how particular some guys are.

The ratchet has a nice smooth action and the handle is pretty comfortable. Not as comfortable as some, but better than others.

OWWW!

I got an angled pick under the ring and just ran the pick around the head until I could pull the ring out of the groove. The ring came out pretty easily.

The hardest part was getting the little retaining ring back on the gear. That little ****** shot across the bench and I thought I'd never see it again.

I'll try to post pictures of taking the ring off. Might need three hands though. Give me a few days to get it done.
