That is an excellent price if you need it, I bought my 40" friction slide Crafty around 1992 and the best discounted price for the time was $299.00 which was the price I paid for mine. What a drag, the next year they began offering the same box with BB slides for only $100.00 more! I have always regretted not buying a year later as there is no way to upgrade a friction box to BB. I would say though that the friction job has always worked just fine with no problems, even during those years I had it sagging beyond the rated capacity with tools, so I guess I really did not need the BB slides; still woulda been nice though!
