i picked these up today. they have sae and metric for 19.98 each. I only bought the sae since i have the metric blue point set. These actually seem like they are pretty decent. chrome is nice, better than some other husky stuff i've seen and the ratchet mechanism is pretty smooth.

My wife got me a set a few weeks ago as a valentine gift. They are a metric set with the universal spline-type box end. I went to take them back to exchange them and Home Depot return desk rings up $9.99??? I"m thinking my wife cheaped out on me but then I go to the tool section to pickup the standard set. They are there but in different packaging and are $29. I then go back to the returns desk and buy back my old metric set. Whats up with that? I guess mine are closeouts?

I dont know how they will hold up but they actually have a very nice fine action, smooth machine fit, polished chrome etc. I just dont know how that universal box end will work out. I think if I could find these for $9.99 a set, I would probably buy several sets for family members. The set I have looks identical to these:

She most likely bought leftover christmas stock. The original Black friday price was $24.98 per set. Towards the end of december, they dropped to $17 per set, and the price continued to drop because they want to clear out stock from the store.

I bought SAE and Metric sets on Clearance for $8 per set 3 weeks ago.

In my mind its a really good deal and you should be proud of your Wife for buying you $50 worth of ratcheting wrenches for under $20 ;)

Indeed, and I definitely wasn't going to sell them back to them for that price and I won't ask her what she paid. She is the best wife ever.
