I bought a set of sae and metric of these (taiwan not chinese)last year and while i dont think they're quite as good as my snap on ones at work iam pretty impressed with them, definitely better than gearwrench in my opinion. Does anyone know who the oem of these are?

I don't know who makes those specifically, but check out the websites for Hi-Five, Kabo and Infar. They make a lot of them.

Hi-Five
http://www.newtools.com/products.htm

Infar
http://www.infar.com.tw/en/products/?method=listing&sid=1

Kabo
http://kk0063.handtool.org.tw/

A wild guess would be Hi-Five, because I've seen other Hi-Five products rebranded as Husky.

I looked at all those sites an the husky ones dont really look like any of those. The lever looks different on all of them but maybe that dont mean anything

I would guess the Proto/Blackhawk wrenches are actually produced for Stanley by another company. Only a few companies make pretty much all of the ratcheting wrenches.

FWIW I was at HD last week and they had the 7pc sae and metric ratcheting wrenches for $19.99.I almost got a set of each til I discovered they wasn't reversible.I already have a set of HF wrenches like those. To tell the truth I couldn't see no difference between the husky and my HF wrenches.

They are made by stanley. They are the same as the blackhawk ones. Very good quality. And Stanley owns the factory in taiwan that makes their proto ratchet wrenches, blackhawk and husky when they where the supplier to HD.

The nonreversible ones are from china an probably not very good but the reversible ones are taiwan and are excellent. Been usin them alot lately and have been really impressed. Again definitely better than gearwrench
