Husky Tool Box Surprise

Picked up a couple of the plastic 16" Husky tool boxes from Home Depot a little while back for some organizing projects. Started messing with them tonight and noticed something while peeling off the sticker . . . Made in the USA! Nice little surprise, not something I was not expecting. Nice little box for under $6. Curious now if the larger version is also US made.

I bought the double size last year. It is made in USA as well. It swayed my purchase their way. Unfortunately, I was a dumb ***, put in my truck bed rail. Loaded it up and drove off. Rode there for several miles before the blue lights came up from behind. The officer was NOT impressed that it bounced off his hood at 75mph. Luckily he let me slide for loss of load. I need to go buy a new box.

And this. Injection molding is cheap enough to do here to offset transport costs. You'll find a ton of cheap toolboxes/storage containers/etc. are made here. Plano is one huge example.

Who provides husky? I think it's stanley now and I think stanley has some us production (usually "domestic assembly" of some sort). It could be apex though but I'm not sure.

It would have been a really neat surprise to pull a steel tool box out of the plastic one that was made in the usa..
