Iam Returning to work as a millwright, I have picked up Some
Proto Impact sockets 3/4 Drive
Some 3/8 Drive Stanley professional marked Sockets
Snap-on and SK Crow Foot sockets.

How are the Husky tools for Hard use, like their wrenches and sockets and extensions?

Also i need a ratchet reccomendation, I have always used the Snap on ratchets and this will be the first timewith me not buying one of them, I hate Mac and matco ratchets along with the craftsman raised panel ratchets, Any brands that will hold up to hard use?

Are husky or stanley ratchets good or not?

Husky should be just fine. However, good ratchets are so thick on the ground, I'm always stumbling over Husky, New Britain, S-K, Proto, Indestro for dirt cheap. With a little effort, you can buy a dozen and find the ones you personally like best. You aren't marrying the darned things.

I bought a complete set of Husky when I was on the road on 2005 (emergency repair, I had a Home Depot Credit card that was empty), I use them around the farm when Im outside the shop (they are in a blow molded case), I wouldn't call that heavy use, but Ive had no problems, the quality seems to be better than crapsman.

Why don't you get a Proto ratchet. They're very inexpensive used and they're very tough.

If you like Snap-on and are avoiding them because of cost try feebay or watching the classifieds here. Used standard length ones can be be found for reasonable money.

Another option would be new Williams. They're supposed to be copies of 36 tooth SO according to several posts on here.

Check ebay for Williams ratchets, they use the S-O 936 series internals (36 tooth) and are reasonably priced. Gearwrench would be another option.

S-K also go very reasonable on ebay. For 3/8 drive I like them best.

I second the Proto ratchet recommendation.

Their pear-head ratchets are tough-as-nails and a 70-year proven design.....relatively inexpensive too compared to Snap-On.
