So homedepot has them for $49.97 1-2” and 3/8”. I currently don’t own one and figured it’s a tool needed since I plan on working more on my truck and all. Anyone have any thoughts on the brand?

I have a couple. Both have been replaced under warranty. Got 8-12 years out of each before they were replaced. Easy to swap out (once you get a tool guy to the returns desk to tell them no receipt is required).

how valuable is your truck?

I like quality torque wrenches...

but maybe the HF is fine - just check the calibration each time before use

I have the 1/2 inch version. I've had it for many years and it's been used moderately over that time with no problems. If I wrenched full time, I'd probably choose a different tool. but for my needs, it's been more than sufficient.

When I say work on my truck, it’s not a project build or anything like that, it’s new, so working on it is meaning tire rotation, when time comes to replace all fluids (trans, diff) things in that nature. I’m no mechanic that can rebuild a motor or anything so this would be use gradually not everyday scenarios.
