So I have searched and couldn't find anything comparing the two and if im missing it somewhere someone could just post a link here, But has anyone hands on touched both 4 drawer black tool carts. I know the us general is the garage journal cupcake but the Husky has a higher load rating and it appears that the lid already opens completely so no hinge mod nessary.?

I would go and touch them both first but the nearest harbor freight is almost two hours away and if im going, I want to know that im going to purchase the cart.

THanks

The U.S. General is not a bad cart, but most of the stuff at the H.F. stores is not put together with any care and has been finger f.... more than imaginable.

When I bought a H.F. portable welding table, if it was by the one at the store I should have run out the door, buy when I put mine together right it is a sweet table. I'd give it a 4.8 out of 5.

The HF red cart is better and cheaper. The HF black cart can be bought for $99 pretty regularly. The red for about $145. You have quite a price difference in the ones you are considering. That Husky is $170. I would put it between the two in quality. I was shopping for one when the other Husky went on clearance for $40. It may be lighter duty but for home use it was a no brainer.

I have messed with the husky 33in. and i own the HF red cart 5 drawer and the black cart 4 drawer. They are pretty closely matched. You may loose a drawer with husky but you gain it in width. If you compare them i would give the HF red cart 55% and the husky a 45%. HF a little higher because I am not a fan of black and I like the drawer locks on the HF cart.

Thanks Dodge that's what I was looking for, someone who has actually fondled both. So build quality are similar and its a toss up is what your saying other than your color preference

For the price....get the red harbor freight cart. Probably a little more room. My opinion it's pretty stout and the drawer slides are nice. You can find the coupon for 169.99 I think.

I see plenty of mechanics here with the US General carts and they love them, those Huskys dont last that long before they're replaced with a different box. People ***** about the slides and casters, i dont personay own one tho
