Thinking of getting a chainsaw next spring so I visited the chainsaw shop near here that is a Husqvarna dealer. I had a look at a few models and they recommended the 440E. Is it any good and is it made in Sweden? Couldn't find a real COO on it and it had a Swedish address on a plate.

Ive been using husky saws for over 20years professionally and i love them they are a little lighter that the sthil saws but both are the only saws worth considering. My personal saw is a 346xp it`s small enough to climb with but big enough to cut good size logs all day. I have a 16inch bar for me it`s not about ego ie my saws bigger than yours but more about comfort. You will not be sorry buying a husky.

I looked at a bunch of Stihl saws and all seemed to be US made. My cousin has an old German made one.

@ AllAboutTools While those are probably really good I'm only interested in Husqvarna and Stihl as they are widely available here and parts and service won't be a problem.

From what i saw, the big boys are made in Germany, aka MS460, MS660, MS880, i'm not sure about the rest. I just know that because those are the three i was looking at buying....ended up with the MS660 and it is made in germany.
