I recently ran 20 some feet of 3/4 copper pipe for the air handler. Also plan to run copper pipes between the compressor shed and attached garage. So i thought why not use the line for air?

-Easily bend for one continuous line
-Only solder the end fittings easily accessible for later service
-Already insulated so no worry about sweating
-Maybe even use 3/8 line which you can bent by hand without worry of kinking(3/4 pipe bender for sure).

What do you guys think?

From a functional stand point there are no issues what so ever.

The downsides are cost and IMHO it looks like **** if hung in a visible place on the wall as on can never get it straight nor without a true bender(not the spring ones) the bends look attrocious. But that is just my opinion and I normally take things to far. ;)

I believe those are rated 3/4" O.D. so I wouldn't use any smaller than 3/4" , 3/8" is like a straw.

I don't know where do you find the solder fittings for it to convert to water copper pipes?

You probably could flare it and they have those to NPT very common,

You want to bend anything bigger than 1/2" with a bender, bender for HVAC don't have markers and you are kind of guessing where the turn is going to be.

You don't need to insulate it unless you are running a refrigerated air cooler.

I looked into using it, but just ended up buying a flexzilla lead hose for the short distance that I need.
