Sloppy wiring work, otherwise ok I guess. The GAM5 is a mid-level air handler in the Hyperion line.4 speed ECM not variable speed.I would be interested to know the total developed length of the existing lines.Over 60ft they may be undersized.I don't believe you need to go up and over with the lines because there are check valves in the refrigerant system inside the cabinet...no mention in the install regarding line set routing. What did they use for a Trane unit outside? Did they use R410-A or convert it to R-22?A picture would be helpful.Make sure they registered your products with Trane to get the 10 year limited registered warrantee rather than the base 5 year warrantee.Small detail but worth checking....unit is not supplied with a filter, did they put one in?
I agree with your opinion about the wiring but at this point Im just grateful they replaced the other unit. I can live with the long wires. As long as it works. The lines are about 35' long.
Heres a couple of pictures of the unit outside. No matter what Im sure its a huge improvement over the ADP handler they originally installed and even more of an upgrade to the original setup that was there for 23 years. Dont remember the brand of that one but when the condenser rotted out the original guy put too small of a unit in its place and it never cooled right.
The filter you mentioned, is it on the right side of the air handler ? I assumed that it came with one under the cover but didnt check.
When I drop off their lunch on Monday I'll inquirer about the warranty. Thanks for telling me about that.
