Just got back from Lowes and Home Depot after picking up a couple of HVLP spray guns.

This is the Home Depot gun, couldn't find a link for the Lowes Kobalt gun.

The Kobalt was on clearance for $10 off, otherwise they had the same list price.

I am planning on painting some cabinets for my garage tomorrow and was wondering if anybody had any advice on which one might be better. The Kobalt has a regulator at the gun, but the Husky comes with a plastic case.

I have a husky, it works great for what I do, mostly painting jeep bumpers and stuff. The place where the airline screws in on mine got pulled out by an idiot and stripped the threads. There isn't a whole lot of room to cut new threads so I had to epoxy it back, which of course leaks. I have gotten more of my moneys worth out of it.

I would get a seperate regulator and a flexable or coiled hose. run the main line to the reg, then from that to the short hose to the gun. The gun gets heavier and more awkward by sticking a regulator on the bottom, there is really no need.

thanks, went ahead and used the Husky, everything went well. First time using a spray gun, but the cabinets look good.
