Local has a hyd lift table for sale, $325....no man. tag but does state that it can lift 700 lbs. I would prefer a crank but it seems like an ok price. I assume that the cylinder would have to be rebuilt from time to time like a floor jack. Any thoughts?

I have the 1000 pound rated HF version of that table. It sees constant use around the shop I use it to lift projects up to a more comfortable working height, to move heavy objects from the back of the truck to the workbench, and as a general purpose adjustable height work support. Been using mine for 5 years and it has saved me many hours of back pain (better than a jug of aspirin).

I'm not sure about the $325 price tag though. If you are not "allergic to" Harbor Freight, they have the 1000 pound rated table on sale right now for about $260.

It's a handy tool, but that's a very high price. Unless you the model/manufacturer can justify that kind of money, I'd pass.

I agree with the two posts above. They are very handy but that's pretty expensive. I picked up a Presto 1000 pound 2'x4' cart for $50. Ideally, I'd have a scissor lift pallet jack as I've sometimes found getting things like an air compressor or heavy cabinets off the cart and onto the floor can be problematic. For that price you could probably find a used scissor lift pallet jack.

I got this table from a closed shop for $100.00. I had to get the jack working(big thanks to GJ) and I put wheels on it. The only problem in getting stuff on and off them. My plan is to use my electric hoist and set stuff on it. I think I would have passed on that one.

I bought a 650lb capacity lift table from Grizzly at one of the scratch-n-dent sales for 100 bucks. It looked brand new, but would not lift. I figured it shouldn't be too hard to figure out what was wrong with the jacking mechanism. It was full of oil, but would not lift. Turns out the inlet check valve to the pump was stuck. Once that was freed up, it worked beautifully. I use it for moving heavy stuff on and off the trucks, it gets used as an adjustable height workbench, and got used a lot as a miter saw stand. Also comes in handy as an extra crash cart for working on vehicles, the adjustable height and locking wheels make it perfect for that use. I didn't think I'd have a use for one, but at that price, I figured it would be worth a try to fix it and flip it if I didn't use it. Well, as it turned out, my lower back disintegrated and I've needed just about every bit of help moving stuff as I could come up with.

Highly recommended.
