i have a hydraulic lift table rated for 2000lbs and it has a 110volt pump .

the table has a single hose for the single ram . its pressure up / electric solenoid gravity dump .

lots of times its stored flat to the floor and I am tired of tripping or working around the pump / hose unit .

was thinking of a ball valve and quick coupler for the unit to make it store a lot better and keep stuff out of the way . and in the event I wanted to use it as a work bench the valve would hold the pressure and I can unhook the hose .

what kind of valve are you guys using ? just reg ball valve from the store that only say 250psi max or what ?

thanks for the help .

Why do you need a ball valve? Hydraulic quick connect couplers typically have a stop on both sides.

If you want to nearly eliminate drips, use a skid steer flush face connector. Though I think 1/2" is the smallest size they offer.

Ant hydraulic supply shop can provide both the flat face connectors and a true hydraulic rated valve. They are made out of steel and are rated for several thousand psi.

IME, the ball valve would only be needed to hold the unit up and / or keep the pressure off of the quick coupler (as in raise it, close ball valve to hold it, then disconnect hoses). You would have a hard time getting the couplers back together with a load on them.

The ball valve could be any steel high pressure type rated as high at the system -- anything the same size as the hoses (1/4" hose -- use a 1/4" valve). Parker, Dyna Quip, Apollo...there's lost of choices...

Parker makes very nice hydraulic quick disconnects. No need for a ball valve based on your description.

Probably a needle valve would be easier to find that is rated to several thousand psi working pressure, than a ball valve.

Used to go thru several 15K needle valves on flowbacks, especially, if there was any produced sand, when bleeding off pressure to check the choke.
