Hydraulic press modifications? Need advice on hydraulic valve

Hi I have a simplex 100 ton press (way more then i need) and i need a longer stroke and want to replace the noisy high pressue simplex powerpack with a traditional 3000psi hydraulic system.

I dont need 100 tons, but was hoping to keep around 50t. I found a 5.125 bore x 14 in stroke cylinder in good shape for next to nothing. This will give me 31t at 3000psi which is probably more then ill ever need, but less then i was hoping for.

I've also considered adding a hand pump for extra control and feel when doing delicate work. I would run the hand pump and electric pump in parallel with a check valve in front of each. Then it hit me, i could use a higher pressure hand pump and i run the system up to 5000 psi (cylinder can handle it) and i would reach my 50t goal as a bonus. The hand pump could be used then in case of a rare occasion that 30t wasnt quite enough.

But i cant seem to find a manual 4 way directional control valve rated over 3000 psi? Anybody have any suggestions? Is there a better way to add a hand pump so i can have electric and hand control?

I thought you were using chack valves?
What's the 4way valve for?

Its a double acting cylinder so typical 4 way, 3 position valve. I was thinking of adding the hand pump right alongside the main pump in the circuit in parallell so to speak. Put a T before pump so both pumps and connected to reservoir, then put a check valve after each pump to prevent backflow through the pump not being used, then T both lines back togeather and then onto the control valve.

Do i even need a hand pump? Anybody here with an electric press ever wish they had one? Or is it not an issue?
