Hydraulic press question

Anyone have a 60 ton or larger press in their shop? If so, could you tell me the basic dimensions on your full capacity press plates? I need to set some materials to make a couple of sets for my 60 and 50 ton presses. My supplier has a good drops section so I want to hit it this week on the way home from work one morning.

I dont have one that large but have several pieces of 1 inch plate that I use.
get large enough pieces to leave an inch gap between and some smaller ones to leave about 6 inches gap.

The factory plates on my 75 ton K.R. Wilson are 2 1/2" thick X 6" wide X 12" long. I am sure that most of the members already know, but I will warn the inexperienced. When pressing with high pressures if the bottom plates start to bend and your work gets off of perpendicular things can get really bad really fast!

We have a 100 ton at work with 3x6x18 inch steel bars. This is a big OTC press with a roll in/out bed that can also be adjusted for spacing. I always put the bars on edge when pressing something large. Have nearly stalled it out before on a rusty gear box drive shaft. People started stepping behind things at that point be she slowly pushed it out.

These are off a 60T KRW and I believe they are stock.
1-7/8" x 5-3/4" x 9-1/4"
I have no idea what grade of steel they are.

Most of the press plates I have seen are just a36 mild steel

Thanks MO and Royce, those numbers are pretty close to what I figured they should be. I've got both a 50 and a 60 ton KRW.
As to big stuff, we used to run to 10,000 tons on some of our presses and could run to about 600 tons on our tensile tester. At 300 tons on the tensile machine, people started to find reasons to be in other buildings...

Friend of mine has a 50 ton KRW and if you would like I will measure his factory plates. The plates on my 75 ton KRW that I described in my earlier post look exactly like royce's only bigger.

I got my 50 ton KRW out of a tool & die shop, and always thought they were homemade.
Mine are exactly like yours.

My press is old enough to be welded with cellulose fluxed rod, so when I saw the v-blocks welded the same and the rabbets milled in them, it lead me to think they are stock.
Now with what you and MO said, I feel sure.
