I am in need of a test kit to be able to check hydraulic pressures. I have a variety of farm/agriculture as well as some construction equipment backhoe excavator dozer etc.

I know about jic o ring boss and flat face connections but I need to be able to test flush face test ports.

Does some one make a kit or have you put together a good quality kit of flush face couplers and a hydraulic pressure gauge up to 7500psi?

I have put together a couple kits for customers with good results. However we designed the system the kit was supposed to work on so I knew all the sizes and ranges it needed to work.

For what you are talking about, I would get a couple organizer trays and put together the stuff you need that is specific to you.

The flat face test points are Parker PD series, or one of many interchanges. If you get a QD that has female NPT threads you have the option of installing the gauge right in the QD or using a hydraulic hose to get the gauge out where it is easier to read.

Probably good to download the Parker 4300 series catalog and the Parker 4400 series catalog in .pdf form.

Then you have all of the reference material and you can mostly design the setup you need from your desk.

Having a Parker Store or a stocking distributor nearby is also helpful.

What I've found is you generally need to place this at the end of a hose because of the flex. So you need both-sides of the mating fitting. Maybe that's over intuitive. So if you have a #12 JIC male fitting and a hose with #12 female swivel fitting, you need both of those going into a tee plus to send the leg to your pressure gage. Short length is always desirable unless its out in the open.

We had Quadrigages at work. They were nice in the fact that the guages were stagged. When one maxed out the next guage would read from there. Equipment that we worked on was 5,000 psi and under-the "red" quadrigage was what we had. The "blue's" were good to 6,000psi and liquid filled-I think. We never had any issue with them, they lasted because they were in a steel case. Any adapter fittings, hoses that were needed we picked up locally. I don't think that their stuff goes up to 7,500 psi though.
