Bendpak is delivering my new MD-6xp scissor lift today. I thought it might be handy to install quick disconnects between the pump and the line to the lift. For those that don't know, this lift has the pump on a dolly that can be used to move the lift around. A standard disconnect won't work since the male end would leak. Where can I find this type of disconnect?

Good luck with your new lift and let us know how you like it. I have been considering buying a lift. Also, what did you pay if you don't mind me asking?

I don't think we have a Parker store here. We do have a Parker plant though. As far as farm supply, there's a TSC and a Co-op. Industrial supply, all we have is a small Fastenal store. It's a small town. As far as the lift, I won't beat a dead horse since we discussed it last week, but I got it from ASEdeals.com for $1533 delivered.

Download catalog 3800 which is 5MB and 202 pages.

Section "B" is hydraulic quick connects.

I would recommend being careful with them...they have to be at zero-pressure state on both sides before they can be coupled...a gorilla cannot overcome the internal loads needed to unseat the check valve and connect up the mating parts if one side is under pressure.

They are also expensive and you still lose a couple of drops.

My recommendation if you can stand a little fluid loss is to use JIC male connectors that link to JIC female swivel connectors. Typically the male connector has a pipe thread connection on the other side and the female swivel is attached to the hydraulic hose. Very reliable, designed for 5000 psi service and much, much cheaper than a hydraulic QC.

There is no safety lock cable. You have to lift the lift a few inches above the safety and a dog falls back allowing you to lower the lift.

A farm tractor dealer should have what you need. A hydraulic shop that repairs/makes hoses should also have them. They work well and you lose very little fluid. We call them dry break fittings here.
Check Grainger or McMaster Carr online also.

I put one on my lift....Make sure you get the type that completely seals when disconnected otherwise it will drip an oz or so which is what was between the two couples. i went to my local hydro maint / supply place and they were great. I even picked up my oil from them.

You can see it in the upper right corner of the picture. BTW, my pump was mounted on the outside of a post. I put hinges on it to move it to the inside for storage, and then outside when I needed to operate the lift.
