Hydraulic Ram Rebuild Help

I recently purchased an old Matco floor crane (model MSJ 200). I am interested in rebuilding the ram and the pump. The Matco website has no information on the unit. I have no clue who manufactured the unit for Matco. I have never rebuilt anything hydraulic so starting off blind. Where do I start?

I'm interested also, but for the ram in my dad's old floor jack.

When the ram in my engine hoist goes out I may be replacing it with an air/hydraulic unit.
