I have a 80's Kubota L2550 with a front end loader. The cylinders started leaking fluid quite a bit, so I bought seal kits for all 4 cylinders. There isn't anything complicated about this at all, but one of the seals is inside the head cap which screws on the end of the cylinder. The first one I did, I fought like hell getting that inner seal folded and in it's groove and my old hands just don't have the strength they used to. So for 15 bucks, I bought this:

Holy smokes! What a simple tool, and it takes all of maybe 15 seconds to put the seal in it's groove. I may never have the need to use them again, but they were worth the money.

Nothing new, helps to put the seals in boiling water to make them more pliable

I have an even cheaper-looking version without the grip covers. It works.

I saw a Youtube once where some guy demonstrated how to do even really tricky seals by hand - then I wondered why I would try when I already have the tool. Maybe if I need to install a seal someday without one, I'll try to find it again.

Had a set for a while, very simple tool. Even the inexpensive ones do ok.

+1 for the boiling water trick, best way to get teflon seals/wear rings installed.
