Hydraulic welding table project

Many times during fabrication I wished I'd never started this project but now it's done so I'm thankful for that. I wanted to rid myself of beat up jerry rigged tables and carts in an effort to consolidate my small home work space so I set out to design and build a multi purpose work station that could serve three key functions:

Adjustable height work surface for welding fabrication / mechanic work
Adjustable height and removable vise stand
Converts into a jet-ski service dolly

Table also has a convenient slide out table extension / tool bar with added drop in tool caddy.

1/2-13 tapped grid on table surface allows for table mount clamping using modified Harobor Freight camps. Grinder dock under vise table. I incorporated a trailer jack mechanism inside the vise stand to allow for adjustable height.

Very nice.

I'm in the process of building something that is similar. You've taken yours a few notches above what I have done though. I started with a 660 lb. lift table from Princess Auto. I removed the large chrome handle and replaced the hydraulic hand lever and fabricated a foot operated one. I added a 2"x2" angle iron lip for clamping. I have yet to add a new metal top and seeing yours at 3/8" that is probably what I will go with.

I like the "extras" you have added (vice table, clamp & grinder racks, etc.). One thing I have for mine is a 1" thick high density rubber mat. I just throw it on top for "non-welding" jobs.

I started with a smaller and less expensive version of this ...

Here are a few not so great pictures of what I have so far ...

That's pretty cool. Very nice work.

I've been thinking about doing something like this with an old die cart to use as an auxiliary table for long pipes.

Digging your style, man.

I got no need for a car lift.... But I got a million needs for lifting heavy **** -safely-to draw a bead.

Something like this would do away with welding on something dangling from a chain attached to a backhoe boom.

Well done!
