Hello, I'm Looking at components for an in floor radiant system. My kitchen has two loops of pex installed in about 1.5" of lightweight concrete under tile. Crawl space under the floor. I'm looking to use radiant to supplement existing forced air as this is a large room (450 sq ft) with a wall of glass on north exposure. Wondering how the hydro shark Sh3-07 would do as the heat source? Also open to recommendations for zoning? Valves? 2 pumps? Thanks

use a heat exchanger, bronze pump on the dhw side .. it'll be way cheaper than electric

Until the LP prices go over $3/gallon like they are now.
Many places in the midwest have electric rates in the 10-12cents/KW(delivered, taxes etc included).
Assuming a "gift" of 90% efficiency for your propane(a standard water heater isn't likely to even get 90%), 12cents/KW equals out to abiout $2.90/gal propane. If you're lucky enough to get electric at less than 10 cents the LP has to be down in the $2.40 range.

In the last few weeks here electric heaters have been flying off the shelves.

Could you elaborate on the "wall kettle" or DHW heat exchanger please? I'm new at this radiant..... We use a 13 seer electric heat pump until it gets too cold, then 93% LP gas backup heat. Our electric rates are about 11-12 cents/KWH. All hot water is from the 50 gal LP heater. Our LP has averaged $1.40-1.60.....until this year. Thanks for input.

"wall kettle" = derogatory term for small electric point of use water heater

a heat exchanger, in this case, is a device for transferring heat from one body of liquid to another, without those two bodies physically touching
