I've just acquired a Hydrovane 5 compressor air end and after some good head scratching I realize I'm missing the coupling from the motor side.

The way I understand it is the pump has a 20mm alloy coupling, the motor 24mm alloy coupling and in between sits the rubber spider. Well, I'm missing the 24mm one. This motor coupling also doubles as a cooling fan.

Are there sold as spare parts anywhere? Where exactly do I get one?

Here is a pict with the pump coupling and rubber spider handing from the wire guard:

I'd pull that coupler half and then measure the shafts of it, and whatever is the other side (motor??). Take those measurements to an industrial supply house like Applied Industrial Technologies

link: http://www.applied.com/

or some other such outfit or search online under power transmission components.
You might get lucky and find a mfr name / part number on the coupler, too. That will help verify type / duty rating for you replacement. Heck, they might even have the exact part.

And looking at that picture, I'm not seeing the cooling fan part -- looks like a standard shaft coupler.

If this is my best bet, I don't like my chances. I'm in the UK, such outfits are far and few between.

This is how the motor coupling looks like, you can see the fins on it:

The guy I bought it from scrapped the motor along with the coupling. Very bad idea!
