The Hyloft overhead storage systems get good reviews.

Has anyone tried the MonsterRAx or Promax systems?

The Hyloft doesn't look as sturdy.

The price difference is substantial with the MonsterRAx at $259 (4x8) vs. the Hyloft at $49.99 on Amazon (45 inches x 45 inches).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have experience with the Hyloft products as well as another Brand called Off The Floor. http://www.offthefloor.com/ We have sold a lot of both and I have off the floor in my own garage. If you are looking for a fast, affordable solution, Hyloft is not bad. Personally, I like the Off The Floor units because they do not sway as much. I have also herd very good things about Mosterrax and Onrax but I have not used them myself. We used to buy Dynotile from the company that makes Onrax. If you call there ask for Brad or Kurt.

Sincerely,

Well, I install monsterrax in my business, and all my customers are very happy with it. Don't up up anything flimsy or janky--it's just too risky. My opinion as a guy who makes his living selling the stuff is that hyloft is just consumer trash. A monsterrax is almost 100 pounds of steel--it's a very tough rack.
