Dirty Diesels

I got a phone call to go set up one these generators brand new delivered to a friends workshop, who currently has no mains power.
When I got there we had to lift this generator off of a pallet and take all the packaging off of it, anyway it's enclosed in a boxed up chassis on wheels, in the packaging comes it's own tool kit comprising of a set of Din spec double open end metric spanners, 10mm-17mm and a flat tip and phillips screwdrivers, they give you a spare inline fuel filter and a set of three pin plugs to use 110v's and 230v's uk spec. The engine oil spec is 5w30 sae and you can run red diesel or road diesel in this generator, there is a warning label on the top cover where the fuel filler cap is stating do not use petrol.
I had to fill the engine with oil to the required level and push the engine lock lever over, it's got an electric ignition (key start) and they supply two keys, then we filled the generator fuel tank with 16litres of road diesel and started it up, it was so quiet for a diesel engine, I could not believe it, even puts 2stroke petrol noisy generators to shame anyway we wired up the consumer unit in my friends workshop and powered the lights and a compressor with an 120litre tank and the generator never skipped a beat, so my friend got on with his paint spraying.
After he had done his paint spraying, he put his kerosene heater on to dry the paint, still got the lights on in the workshop, at the same time, then he came outside to start dual action sanding down the body filler on another job and generator still chugged away quietly and still never missed a beat.
The only two problems with this generator is 1 it's got a short reach exhaust pipe and 2 it has to been run in a well ventilated area, okay the exhaust can be adapted with flexi pipe.
So far from what I've seen and yes I would buy 1 myself, it's the ideal bit of kit for back up power or mobile workshop and you get a 12v power point with it so you can charge mobile phones, so it will interesting to see how it stands to the test of time.

Edit: I forgot to mention that this generator cost my friend £1,499.00 including delivery and VAT, you can if you shop around get these generators cheaper, but depends on the supplier and there are a few 2nd hand ones going on ebay at reasonable prices.
