I always overbuild

I am going to build something very similar to what’s in this photo I always tend to overbuild frame will be made of 1x1 square aluminum originally was going to use 8 gauge wall but feel it’s probably my normal overkill do you all believe 16ga 1x1 aluminum square tube is adequate

How will you affixe the paneling to the frame structure?
That might give you all the reinforcement you need.

I assume that's a dog crate?

16 gage will be plenty.

As woodstruck suggests you may not even need a tube frame.
